STRENGTHEN

OUR UNIONS

What I'd do:

Our unions are the backbone of this state. Being part of a union means better wages, better healthcare, a more stable retirement, and greater job security. Additionally, unions historically do not just benefit those in them, but they raise the standard for wages and benefits for those who are not in unions as well. Because of these facts, I support every worker's right to organize and join a union. Additionally, I pledge to support and choose union labor over non-union labor every time.

Right to Work:

As your Senator, I would stand against any bill that hurts the right to organize. I would fight tooth and nail against any so-called "Right to Work" legislation proposed. Ohio has said no to this before, and we'll say no again.

Project Labor Agreements:

Finally, I would support any bill that strengthens and contains a mandate for Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) on public work projects. PLAs have been used for generations, and not only protect workers, but protect the public and the taxpayer as well. They ensure that projects are done right, safely, and timely.
