I believe that everybody has a right to nutritious food and clean water. As your state representative, I would advocate for increased access to programs that would make accessibility to nutritious and quality food more widely available.

 

SNAP Benefits

I propose increasing eligibility for SNAP benefits. In the wake of recent inflation and the increase in the cost of groceries, it is only right that we increase the eligibility for SNAP in Ohio. There is currently a bipartisan initiative to increase eligibility for seniors in Ohio sitting in the legislature. It's time we get this done for our communities.

Universal School Meals

Ohio is better than letting children go hungry. Other states like Minnesota have universal school lunches that ensure children have enough to eat. It's common sense, hungry children can't learn because their basic needs aren't being met. We must stop punishing kids for being unable to afford lunch. ​

Farm to Table

In the legislature, I would propose increased availability for SNAP recipients to purchase produce and meat at Farmers' Markets using their benefits. This would not only allow for better access to fresh food but would subsidize local farmers who feed our community.
