We live in one of the most beautiful and historic regions in the country. It only makes sense to protect and preserve our environment for future generations to enjoy. This includes taking steps to mitigate and combat the effects of climate change.​

Renewable Energy:

Recent developments have made Ohio home to some of the largest solar manufacturing facilities in the entire world. As our nation progresses and moves towards green energy, it is clear that Ohio must lead the way. As your State Senator, I will fight for these good-paying jobs to come to our district. In the 20th Century, our people led this nation through World Wars. In the 21st Century, our people will lead this nation out of the climate crisis.

A New Ohio Clean Water Act:

​Across our district, injection wells are leaking toxic brine. This threatens our local rivers, creeks, and farmland. In Noble County, local wildlife is dying off because a creek became toxic after a leak. In Athens and Washington Counties, wells are permeating toxic liquid 1.5 miles from their sites, threatening our drinking water.

 

Those who pollute must face accountability for failing to keep us safe. The National Clean Water Act has not done enough to protect Ohioans from reckless companies. Ohio needs a new Clean Water Act that will protect our waterways and drinking water with reasonable standards and a legal framework to punish those who pollute. Ohioans deserve to be free from corporate predators who take away our ability to hunt, fish, have clean water, and make us foot the bill for their messes.
